In August, 2007, Garrett Fisher's new work "CrossSound Fable" will be premiered as part of CrossSound's Fault Lines Concert Series. The work, in two movements is for Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Bari Sax, Trombone, Euphonium, Piano, Violin and Viola, and incorporates Fisher's ragas. Jocelyn Clark of CrossSound writes: "Garrett Fisher from Seattle, calls his composition 'Cross-Sound Fable' a title reflecting the subcontinental Indian influence found in much of his work. In his compositions, Fisher manages to create musical structures that carry his music architecturally while at the same time leaving musical decisions about what and how to play up to the individual players, thus engaging and includingthem in the compositional process. To Fisher, striking a potent balance between preconceived structure and creative reaction from the players lies at the core of his compositional intention and mastership of his contemplative
style."
