It’s opening night of Magda G, a controversial production about Magda Goebbels and the murder of her children. As Maria Halcón, the show’s drag queen star, prepares for her role, she becomes mysteriously and violently ill. Maria's fever feeds her performance of First Lady of Nazi Germany’s Medea-like story, as well as the appearance of Magda's ghost, a sinister guardian angel who reveals deep-seated connections between Maria and Magda's parallel experiences of love, ambition, and fate.

Set to Garrett Fisher’s lush and moody score, Magda G thrusts us into a gyre of identity, history and contemporary politics that threatens to spin out of control.

Kocho

The Fisher Ensemble is currently organizing a European tour of Kocho. Inspired by a 15th century Japanese Noh drama, this hour and twenty minute journey brings to life the evocative, haunting tale of a butter!y's dream to dance under a plum tree. By blending stunning visuals, Butoh infused choreography and an inventive instrumentation which includes countertenor, Indian harmonium, six string fretted acoustic bass, gongs and trombone, Kocho immerses its audience in a uniquely transformative experience.
